JOSHUA J. BETTENCOURT joined KSC as an associate in 2005, concentrating his practice in agricultural law, civil litigation, corporate and partnership law and intellectual property. Since joining the firm, Josh has come to represent a full range of agricultural interests from growers and producers to packers, shippers and processors in various matters such as commercial litigation, the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act ("PACA"), agricultural liens, trademarks, and business and real property transactions. He is admitted to the California Bar and the Federal District Court for the Eastern and Central Districts of California.

In 2005, Josh received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law. While attending law school, Josh twice received Honors for academic excellence in Legal Research and Writing and was presented with the award for Outstanding Appellate Brief in 2003. Josh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University in 2001, graduating cum laude and as a Phi Beta Kappa member.

Outside the office, Josh enjoys assisting members of his family on their farm located in Hanford, California, concentrating in the production of wheat, alfalfa, corn and walnuts. He also takes pleasure in spending time with his wife and daughter and participating in various Farm Bureau activities throughout the year. Josh is a member of the Kings County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Kings County Farm Bureau.
